CANDYLAND

MY DAUGHTER'S FAVORITE GAME IS CANDYLAND. THE LAST TIME WE PLAYED IT WAS ONE OF THOSE NEVERENDING GAMES THAT YOU HAD TO RESHUFFLE AND GO THROUGHT THE DECK AGAIN. AFTER PICKING UP THE MR. MINT CARD FOR ABOUT THE 3RD TIME IN THE SAME ON GOING GAME, I MUMBLED " WELL THAT JUST ABOUT SUMS UP MY LIFE". WHICH GOT ME THINKING. SURE LIFE SUCKS SOMETIMES, AND MAYBE SOMETIMES IT FEELS OVERWHELMING. BUT IF WE WENT ALONG THROUGH OUR LIVES WITHOUT CHRIST, WE SURE WOULD BE AN EMOTIONAL WRECK. HE IS THE STABILITY, THE BALANCE THAT KEEPS US ON. NO MATTER WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCE. YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT CARD YOU WILL BE DEALT. HOW WILL YOU REACT TO IT? YOU NEVER KNOW, YOU MAY GET PLUMPY NOW, BUT 6 CARDS LATER YOU COULD GET QUEEN FROSTINE. HANG IN THERE. WHEN CRAZY THINGS HAPPEN THAT THREATEN TO THROW US OFF KILTER, HE KEEPS US STEADY. HIS CONSTANT HAND IS NOT ONLY MY SECURITY, BUT MY SANITY TOO! IF WE DID NOT HAVE CHRIST, WHATEVER WE WENT THROUGH WOULD BE HANDLED BY A MENAGERIE OF EMOTIONS. HE IS OUR ROCK, OUR ANCHOR. I AM SO GRATEFUL HE IS IN CONTROL! SO THE NEXT TIME YOU FEEL DISCOURAGED, DRAG OUT THAT CANDYLAND BOARD AND EVEN THOUGH YOU MAY BE ON JOLLY, WHILE YOUR CHILD IS ON PRINCESS LOLLY, ENJOY THE JOURNEY, IT'S ONLY ANOTHER TEST, AND YOU CAN PASS THIS ONE WITH FLYING COLORS! GOOD LUCK!

Your post has left me in awe. Your analogy of life being similar to a game is so profound! You are so very smart and I'm so very proud of you.
